We could imagine no better time and place to get married: an autumn afternoon under a canopy of oak and willow trees somewhere in South Africa’s most beautiful western wine region. It was the sort of afternoon on which the lazy sun lingers long enough to allow you to enjoy a sip of champagne and a gulp of Namibian oysters before the candles on the banquet table start flickering.
For their wedding Namibia-based couple Ben and Melissa desired nothing more than an evening of feasting, friends, and family – with no pretense (or panic attacks).
The bride briefed COORD to create a celebration that would speak of homely old-world luxuries, simple joys, and natural beauty.
Grapes, figs, pomegranates, and pears, contained in a selection of crystal, pewter, and ceramic vases, partnered all too beautifully with the last of the season’s delicate garden roses and field flowers. Dozens of candles and lanterns lent a comforting glow to the outdoor environment.
And as the celebration continued late into the night, poetically, “we were suddenly aware that the autumn leaves were turning to the colour of her hair…”
There to capture this gloriously romantic event was photographer Eric Uys. We look forward to sharing more of his amazing work with you in the future.
